Because
of YOU is a non-profit organization that was founded to minister to
the needs of the people of Moldova. Sue and Ken Korthauer have been
involved in missions work in Moldova for over 7 years. Sue organizes
medical mission trips as well as summer camps.
Summer camps
are designed in a "Vacation Bible School" format. Campers
are from several Moldovan orphanages. The "Camp Good News"
teams are compromised of individuals from multiple denominations.
These volunteers raise their own funds to finance their time of ministry
- as they expend themselves to children in need, they are abundantly
blessed. Most return home to the states as changed individuals. The
children hear Bible stories, see and participate in puppet shows that
focus on the stories, do arts and crafts, have daily recreational
times, and are involved in "families" that do all activities
together.
Medical
missions are sponsored for late fall and early spring each year. Volunteer
doctors, nurses, and other professionals travel to Moldova to give
medical care to many Moldovan citizens. Orphan children are seen in
their daily enviroment and treatment is given for various ailments.
Various communities are also visited where both children and adults are seen.
